Promotion of Youth Employment and Vocational Training
Task:
The project aims to establish the content-related and organizational prerequisites for piloting the digital implementation of co-operative training programs Level 6 curriculum for Industrial Mechatronics Technology in cooperation with KIST (Kiambu Institute of Science and Technology). Digital learning cannot replace but only complement in-person teaching and practical learning in the context of vocational training, the projects intents to use a combination of digital and conventional learning, referred to as a hybrid learning format. GIZ is looking for external expertise to assist KIST in the development of a hybrid learning format for the course and to adopt this format into practice at the institute.
As a Digital Content and Capacity Developer you will be engaged in:
- Facilitation of workshops and events
- Design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of capacity development
measures - Stakeholder management (definition of main stakeholders, organization of
meetings,
regular information of TVETA/TVET CDACC on the status quo) - Defining a hybrid (a healthy combination of e-learning and conventional
learning) learning concept for the Industrial Mechatronics Technology
curriculum - Advice on human resource concept for a Institute of Science and Technology
- Capacity development for Institute of Science and Technology stakeholders,
including change of management and pedagogical training - Integration of Unit of Competencies into the teaching plan of the Industrial
Mechatronics Technology curriculum - Creation of (moodle-based) Teaching Training and Learning Material (TTLM)
for hybrid
learning content of the curriculum of Industrial Mechatronics Technology - Procurement of ready-to-buy/off-the-shelf solutions for hybrid learning
content of the
curriculum of Industrial Mechatronics Technology - Coaching and mentoring activities for the successful adoption into practice of
the hybrid
learning.
Qualifications:
- Masters’s degree in Management or Education
- Proficient knowledge in English
- 5 years of experience in the education (pedagogics, adult learning) sector
- 2 years of management/leadership experience as project team leader or
manager in a company - Team skills
- Initiative
- Communication skills
- Sociocultural competence
- Efficient, partner/client-focused working methods
- Interdisciplinary thinking
Specific skills required are:
- 3 years of experience in the development of digital/hybrid teaching and
learning formats and materials - 3 years of professional experience as a trainer/facilitator working with/at
TVET colleges - 5 years of training experience or work experience in Africa, of which 2 years
in Kenya
