Promotion of Youth Employment and Vocational Training
Task:
The project aims to establish the content-related and organizational prerequisites for piloting the digital implementation of co-operative training programs Level 6 curriculum for Industrial Mechatronics Technology in cooperation with KIST (Kiambu Institute of Science and Technology). Digital learning cannot replace but only complement in-person teaching and practical learning in the context of vocational training, the projects intents to use a combination of digital and conventional learning, referred to as a hybrid learning format. GIZ is looking for external expertise to assist KIST in the development of a hybrid learning format for the course and to adopt this format into practice at the institute.
As a Learning Management System Administrator you will be engaged in:
- Creation of Teaching Training and Learning Material (TTLM) for hybrid
learning content for the curriculum of Industrial Mechatronics Technology - Ensuring that learning content is embedded within the IT infrastructure/LMS
of the Institute of Science and Technology - Collaborate with applicable stakeholders for the day-to-day operational support of the LMS (Learning Management System)
- Procurement of ready-to-buy/off-the-shelf solutions for hybrid (a healthy combination of e-learning and conventional learning) learning content of the curriculum of Industrial Mechatronics Technology
- Integration of selected Unit of Competencies into the teaching plan of the Industrial Mechatronics Technology curriculum
- Advice on Human Resource concepts
- Training of new and existing staff on using the LMS
- Beta-testing of learning materials
- Coaching and mentoring activities for the successful adoption into practice of the hybrid learning concepts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology or (Learning) System Administration
- Proficient knowledge in English
- 5 years of professional experience in setting up/programming, customizing and maintaining LMS

- Interdisciplinary thinking
Specific skills required are:
- 3 years of professional experience in working with moodle-based platforms
- 2 years of experience in the digitalization/hybridization of learning
materials/processes/products.
